The project examines the peculiarity of the de facto marital relationships, its
forms, and legal peculiarities in the different legal systems of Europe. The starting point
is the observation of the law in Germany, Great Britain, and Ukraine for the common-law
marriage in connection with the Law of the European Union and International
Private Law. Different scientific methods in research will enlight the
legal institution of de facto marital relationship, compare the related legislation and
solve the problem of legal regulation of common-law marriages in International Private
Law.
