On the 29th of October 2024, the Helga Pedersen Moot Court Competition Team was delighted to welcome Stefan von Raumer to Freie Universität Berlin. Stefan von Raumer is a renowned German lawyer who specialises in Human Rights protection and Constitutional Law. He is one of the most sought after attorneys representing individuals in front of the European Court of Human Rights. 

The five-hour event European Human Rights Protection in Practice: Guidelines, strategies and conditions for a successful application focused on the interpretation of the European Convention on Human Rights’ articles, and the admissibility criteria for applications to the Court.

His first-hand experience on working with the Court was very insightful. We got a thorough introduction on the Court’s perspective, which is going to be very valuable going forward with the Moot Court. Understanding how the Court operates, including how it receives and analyses cases, will help us better comprehend our case.
