Künftige Kooperationen mit NYLS, ECCHR, CCR und Reprieve
News from Oct 30, 2017
The FU Law Clinic "Practice of Criminal Defense" will cooperate with the New York Law School (NYLS) in the future. The Legal Clinical Education Program of NYLS is one of the leading in the United States (http://www.nyls.edu/academics/office_of_clinical_and_experiential_learning/clinics/). In the field of criminal law alone there are four different clinical offerings. It is planned that students from Berlin attend part of the program of the "Criminal Defense Clinic" and the course "Advocacy of Criminal Trial" as part of the Advocacy program. Additionaly, students can gain insight into the work of the "Post-Conviction-Innocence Clinic" that works together closely with the internationally known "Innocence-Project". In the "Criminal Defense Clinic", students of the NYLS become active as criminal defense attorneys. In return, we will offer compact lectures about "Comparative Criminal Procedure" or „Bi-National Cases" there.
Moreover, the FU Law Clinic "Practice of Criminal Defense" cooperates with the "European Center for Constitutional an Human Rights“ (ECCHR) in Berlin (ecchr.eu). Students can do their internship as part of the FU Law Clinic at the ECCHR.
The FU Law Clinic „Practice of Criminal Defense" cooperates with the „Center for Constitutional Rights“ (CCR) in New York (ccrjustice.org) and the organization of human rights lawyers of „Reprieve“ in London, Washington D.C. and New York (reprieve.org.uk) as well. Few students can be integrated in the work of these organizations for some weeks. Representatives of both organizations will hold lectures in the FU Law Clinic as soon as it is convenient.
